Alan grew up in the Pacific Northwest, and he has been fascinated by mushrooms since he was a child. He studied mycology in college, and then went on to work as a mushroom forager and educator. Alan has spent years exploring the forests of the Pacific Northwest, and he has tried a wide variety of mushrooms, both magic and non-magic.
